WEEK 9 (26 MAY 2023)
TREILLAGE AND TRANSPLANT PROCESS
VENUE: FIELD, UiTM JASIN
SUBMISSION DATE: 29 MAY 2023

On the ninth week, for the first time raining during rollcall so part 1, 2 and 3 who participate field work need to gather in cafe at Blok Kuliah and continue with recitation of Surah Al-Mulk, Al-Kahfi and Asmaul Husna while raining outside. After that, all of us have to muster in Bengkel Ladang.

Pay attention  and all ears to the speaker.

Jot-down the important information.

Next, my classmates and I finish the set up for trellis and helped a few classmates who have not done with transplanting. Even group A, B and C just started do transplant for their plant bed. As usual, everyday we need to water the plan twice a day and find good wood as a long stake to do trellis.

WHAT IS TRELLIS?

A trellis is the practice of constructing a raised structure using poles of wood or other material so that they can grow with good sunlight and aeration

Example

Benefits of a Trellis

  • Allows more sunlight exposure
  • Allows pollinators to easily pollinate the area
  • Reduces exposure to fungal diseases
  • Increases air circulation
  • Deters insects and pests
  • Creates more space in your garden

In order to make trellis, we need to dig a hole.

By using, soil dig shovel.

This how long stake stand.

Basically, we used raffia rope to connect each woods and build trellis.

Video references from Youtube to see how we're doing.

This is mine looks like!

My friend helped me to tied the string on top because I am not tall enough T_T

To connect bottom and on top, I used mini stake on my plant bed.

While finish the trellis, I also helped my friend to transplant water spinach from seed tray to plant bed and cover it with mulch tillage to avoid direct sun and pesticides that we together find it at jungle behind the plot.

Next week, we are going to have special break and already hired people to help us water all of the plants which is already include in a cost timetable before. Last but not least, Alhamdulilah.. Jasin started to raining so we do not really have to worry much when we leave the crops.

That's all from me, thank you for reading. Assalamualaikum.
